Laura Overton joined us in Fort Lauderdale this year as the keynote speaker for the 2016 Lectora® User Conference. Laura is the Founder and CEO of Towards Maturity, supporting overall business productivity, learner engagement, and staff engagement.Laura presented on the bright future of learning and how to be ready for it. She shared how learning and development professionals can deliver learning at the point of need, based on research about what’s working and what’s not.

According to Laura’s research, modern learners are curious, connected, tech-savvy, and self-directed. She discusses what top deck organizations are doing to support changes in modern learning and the future of learning. These actions included being consumer-driven by being proactive in understanding what their staff needs to do their jobs, along with preparing for change, like supporting ongoing workplace performance and collaborative learning.Laura said that the bright future of learning is built on solving problems, not delivering courses. It’s built on relationships, not on technology. And it’s built on delivering value, not on cutting cost.
