June 2006

To provide you with added Lectora 2006 benefits, Trivantis released a Lectora Service Pack on June 12, 2006. This Service Pack was designed to improve upon certain aspects of Lectora 2006, making content development easier for you and your organization.

Service Pack 3 (SP3) improved the following subjects in Lectora:

Matching distractors now work seamlessly when centered on HTML pages

Enhanced ease of use for delayed transitions with delayed action items

Companion CDs now have the ability to handle resized videos

JavaScript form submissions now run smoothly

Enhanced support for IMS Manifest missing files and SCORM 2004 test conformance

Restored Lectora's ability to handle hard carriage returns in question answers

Added support for Publish to TRAIN

Enhancements to the JavaScript Title Manager

If you have used Lectora 2006 since the release of SP3 and you have Lectora set to automatically update, then Lectora is already running with these new adjustments in place. If, however, you do not have Lectora set to automatic update, please visit http://trivantis.com/support/support_service_center_2006_enterprise_sp.html to download Service Pack 3.

Lectora Helpful Hint #2 - Adding Additional Files

If you are a new Lectora 2006 user and haven't yet discovered all of the great new features, then this tip is for you! One of the time saving new features in Lectora 2006 is the ability to drag in additional file types. Previously, you needed to add files to the title level of your .awt by locating it on your computer and importing it into the title. With Lectora 2006, however, simply click on the PDF, Word document, PowerPoint, or other file type and drag it into your Lectora .awt. A box will appear that asks if you would like the file to be added to the title as an additional file. Click "Yes" and it will be automatically added into your title for you to use. This is a great time saving feature that you may have not yet discovered in 2006.

Lectora Helpful Hint #1 - Rendering Text as an Image

Are you noticing that some of your content doesn't show up exactly the same in certain web browsers as it does in your .awt file? Here is a helpful hint to avoid this problem: Just make sure to check the "Render as Image" box located in the properties pop-up box of that particular item. This will ensure that your content is formatted correctly upon publish.
