Sound EffectsWhile we all know better than to auto-play annoying background music in our e-Learning courses, a few well-placed sound effects can be impactful. Check out FreeSound.org for a huge library of free sound effects. If you’re still feeling stumped, try clicking “Give me a random sound!” You never know what you’ll get, and it just might be the perfect thing to spark some inspiration.Stock PhotosLooking for just the right photo to include in your course? Free stock photo websites like FreeStockPhotos.biz, Stock Exchange, Dreamstime, BigStock, Fotolia, Media Bakery and others are great resources. For example, say you’re developing a course about the coffee industry, and you need some imagery to make a page about revenue statistics a little less boring. A quick search for coffee brings up a variety of results from illustration-type photos to realistic images like this one:

Templates and GamesThe e-Learning Brothers are very well known in the e-Learning industry and offer a wide variety of free resources for your e-Learning projects, including templates and Flash games. You do have to register to download resources, but it’s free to sign up.Background TexturesWant to add a little life to your backgrounds? Try using textures. TextureLovers.com has a wide variety of free textures for you to download.
